Looking to make a deeper connection the CUMC community? Want to take the next step in committing to your faith, through baptism and/or membership? Just want to learn what makes CUMC tick, and learn more about its mission and vision? Or you’d just like to talk to the pastors in a relaxed and informal gathering? If you answered yes to any of those questions, then this is the event for you. We’ll gather shortly after Sunday worship for some conversation, and of course, pizza (and salad) and you’ll get a chance to sit and talk with the pastors, learning a bit more about them and the church.
Because we do provide food and other materials, it would be REALLY helpful to know that you are planning on coming ahead of time. So, to sign up, just email Pastor Jen at firstname.lastname@example.org and you are good to go! See you then!
This is the third message in our series “Embracing the Prophets.” To watch the video referred to in the message featuring Shane Claiborne, go here. Join us each Sunday at 10:30 or on Facebook Live.
Each year tens of thousands of youth and young adults make a pilgrimage to Taizé, France to gather with the Community of Taizé, an ecumenical community devoted to peace, justice and reconciliation. One of our youth, Breanna, has signed up for this year’s pilgrimage, July 19 – 29, and she and her family is hosting a Spaghetti Supper in order to help raise funds for the trip. This supper is on March 23 from 4:00 p.m. – 6 p.m. at the church. Please spread the word, and if you can, come join the fun! The price of the supper is by donation.
Want to learn how to prepare healthy foods on a limited budget? Then plan on attending this workshop Thursday afternoons, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at CUMC starting February 28th. This four week series ends on March 21st (will end March 28th if a session is cancelled due to weather.) To register or get more information, contact Deb at Somerset Public Health at 207-858-8458.
